This blog was inspired and named after my Grandma Naomi.

Welcome

I’m so glad you’re here.

About Naomi

Before Naomi passed away in 2001, she left the most extraordinary gift to her family: her memoirs. Throughout this blog, you will find bits and pieces of the incredible life she lived. All those who knew her loved her, and I know you will, too.

She would always meet you at the door with open arms and a big hug. Oh, how I miss her hugs! You felt the love in her hugs all the way to your toes. As you entered her home, the smell of cornbread baking in the oven would hit you and there was often a delicious dessert waiting to be devoured. You never left her home hungry. She was a maker of things and was always crafting something. Whether she was cooking, sewing, painting, or doing crossword puzzles, she did it with joy in her heart and a smile on her face.

She loved the Lord and her family fiercely and welcomed everyone into her home with open arms.

About Kristi

I’m the granddaughter of Naomi, and the founder and creator of this blog. I love making things with my hands. There is something magical about taking raw materials and creating items from them. Preparing a meal for my loved ones, a quilt made from scraps of fabric and a spool of thread, freshly spun wool becomes yarn that’s knit into a warm hat for a loved one or a cozy blanket for a newborn baby. These things feed my soul and I love sharing them with others, just like my grandma did with me.

I want you to feel as welcome here as everyone did when they entered my grandma’s home.

I am so excited to get to know you and hope you enjoy yourself while you’re here. Grab a cuppa tea or coffee, get comfy, and enjoy your visit. Oh, and don’t be a stranger make sure you come back.

I was the seventh child of a family of ten children, three girls and seven boys. The oldest boy Kenneth died before I was born.”
