Wash and refrigerate apples. You want your apples to be cold before spreading the caramel. It prevents the carmel from pooling and helps it stick to the apple better.
Insert sticks into apple with small hammer.
Cut off piece of Carmel from block and place in microwave safe bowl.
Microwave caramel for 45 second intervals and stir after each interval.
Melt caramel until it’s the consistency of creamy peanut butter.
Spread warm caramel on cold apple, making sure to coat the entire apple. Place on parchament or wax paper.
Apply toppings of choice. Some toppings, like chopped nuts you may want to apple while caramel is still warm.
